Responsible consulting

Research integrity, confidentiality, and clear boundaries

Statistical support should make decisions more transparent without fabricating evidence, hiding authorship, manipulating significance, or weakening the researcher's responsibility for the work.

What StatsAlly will not do

  • Fabricate data, participants, citations, analyses, or results
  • Manipulate a workflow to guarantee statistical significance
  • Complete hidden exams, coursework, or assessed work
  • Misrepresent consultant work as independent authorship
  • Guarantee publication, grades, approval, or a preferred outcome
  • Conceal material limitations or failed diagnostics

What responsible support includes

  • An explicit scope, question, and division of responsibility
  • Methods matched to design, data, and intended inference
  • Assumptions, diagnostics, uncertainty, and limitations
  • Reproducible materials where they are part of the agreed scope
  • Clear explanation and handover so decisions can be reviewed
  • Refusal or rescoping when a request crosses ethical boundaries

Confidentiality and data handling

The public enquiry form is not a secure data-transfer system. Start with a non-confidential description, then agree an appropriate transfer and handling process only after fit, authority, and scope are established.

Before any sensitive transfer

  • Confirm the researcher or organization has authority to share the material.
  • Identify ethics, consent, institutional, contractual, and data-protection requirements.
  • Minimize the fields and records needed for the agreed decision.
  • Agree secure transfer, access, retention, deletion, and incident processes.
  • Avoid credentials, private tokens, or participant data in email or web forms.
Researcher and organization responsibility

The client remains accountable for the study

Clients remain responsible for ethics, consent, institutional rules, the accuracy of supplied context, decisions about how recommendations are used, and their own authorship and reporting obligations.

Consulting responsibility

Limitations stay visible

StatsAlly is responsible for working within the agreed scope and competence, explaining material trade-offs, documenting decisions, flagging uncertainty, and refusing fabrication or misrepresentation.

Start with a non-confidential summary

Describe the study stage and statistical decision without including sensitive data.
